Project Connect:  Tidewater

VHCF Project Connect grants are helping bring the benefits of health insurance -- and a healthier future -- to uninsured children across the state.  These grants, made possible with funding from the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services, allow local organizations to hire outreach workers who help families apply for Virginia's state-sponsored health insurance programs for children (FAMIS and FAMIS Plus)

Project Connect is currently seeking grant applicants to provide outreach in the seven-city Tidewater area, including Newport News, Norfolk, Suffolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Hampton, and Portsmouth.

Those interested in applying for this grant cycle must have attended the mandatory pre-proposal workshop March 27th, and will need to complete the proposal requirements outlined in the Request for Proposal and Budget worksheet.

Key dates:

Wednesday, April 30 – Proposal Deadline

Monday, June 23 – Notification of award

July 1, 2008-June 30, 2009 – Grant period
