The Wachovia Award for VHCF Alumni Achievement is presented annually to a former VHCF grantee that has demonstrated remarkable success in sustaining itself and continuing to provide primary health care to uninsured and underserved Virginians after its “graduation” from VHCF funding. For the eighth year, the organization winning this award will receive $10,000 made possible by Wachovia.
VHCF is very proud of all that its current and past grantees have achieved. Key to any project's success is its sustainability. Remarkably, 89% of Virginia Health Care Foundation projects continue to deliver at or above the same level of service for at least three years after "graduating" from Foundation funding.
The prestigious Alumni Achievement award recognizes those VHCF graduates that have gone above and beyond -- organizations with a commitment to quality and excellence, an entrepreneurial spirit backed by solid business practices and, most importantly, a strong desire to make a lasting difference in the community.
