Prince William Pediatric Primary Care Project

Project Access of the Roanoke Valley
Project Access is a coordinated system for uninsured patients in the community to access a full range of services, including referrals to specialists, labs and diagnostics, and medication. VHCF funds have underwritten support for the Patient Coordinator and a part time pharmacy technician.

Radford Center for Family Health
This newest satellite of Southwest Virginia Community Health Systems serves residents of Radford and Pulaski County. The Center for Family Health provides medical services on-site and facilitates dental and mental health services through community partners. VHCF support is enabling the health center to expand patient capacity and the scope of services by adding a full-time nurse practitioner.

Radford University FAMIS Outreach Project
As a VHCF Project Connect grantee, the Radford University FAMIS Outreach Program is helping enroll eligible, uninsured children from Carroll, Floyd, Giles, Grayson, Montgomery, Pulaski and Wythe counties and the cities of Galax and Radford in the state-sponsored health insurance programs for children, FAMIS and FAMIS Plus. The program utilizes students to reach and enroll children and pregnant women by partnering with community organizations including VEC offices, WIC clinics, free clinics, community college action agencies and area school divisions.

Radford University Foundation, Inc.
In this mental health outreach effort, VHCF funded a project to train nurse practitioner students, local nurse practitioners, and physicians to provide cognitive behavioral therapy in primary care settings.

Rappahannock Area Health District/Caroline County Dental Health Program
VHCF funding supported the Caroline Caries Program, serving children through a school-based dental program in Caroline County. Caroline Caries provides preventive, restorative, and emergent dental care services.

Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services Board
RxRelief Virginia funding from VHCF enabled the Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services Board to underwrite a Medication Assistance Caseworker (MAC) to help eligible individuals access free medications from pharmaceutical companies’ patient assistance programs utilizing VHCF’s Pharmacy Connection software.

Rescue Mission of Roanoke
VHCF funding helped establish an on-site health care center to serve the homeless in the Roanoke area. In its most recent grant to Rescue Mission, VHCF is helping fund an expanded clinic to better serve those in the Roanoke area.

Richmond Behavioral Health Authority
VHCF is providing grant funding to the Richmond Behavioral Health Authority as part of its mental health initiative, A New Lease on Life. The funding will help increase access to mental health services for uninsured area residents. The grant increases access to basic mental health services and prescription medications for patients of Goochland Free Clinic and Family Services and The Daily Planet. It also increases access to medical care for seriously mentally ill patients of the Richmond Behavioral Health Authority, Goochland-Powhatan Community Services Board and the Chesterfield Community Services Board.

VHCF is providing Rockbridge Area Community Services with funding through its mental health initiative, A New Lease on Life. The funding will enable Rockbridge Area Community Services to expand services for area individuals.
