Eastern Shore Community Services Board
VHCF has provided grant funding for this organization through its new mental health initiative, A New Lease on Life. The grant is designed both to increase access to medical care for individuals with mental health concerns as well as improve the ability of uninsured area residents of Accomack and Northampton counties to receive mental health care.
The grant expands access to basic mental health services and prescription medications on the Eastern Shore by rotating an ESCSB social worker among the 5 Eastern Shore Rural Health System sites.

Eastern Shore Rural Health System, Inc.
VHCF funded two complementary telecommunications systems linking EVMS to the majority of health providers on the Eastern Shore. An additional grant allowed the Eastern Shore Rural Health System to expand its pediatric practice in Accomack County through the addition of a pediatric nurse practitioner and the renovation of the existing facility.
The most recent funding is through A New Lease on Life and helps expand access to basic mental health services and prescription medications on the Eastern Shore.

Greater Williamsburg MAP - Northern Neck Free Health Clinic
The Greater Williamsburg Medication Assistance Program (GWMAP) is a partnership between the Virginia Health Care Foundation and the Williamsburg Community Health Foundation.
Northern Neck Free Health Clinic, as part of GWMAP, assists eligible individuals in the Northern Neck, including Middlesex County, with obtaining free medications from pharmaceutical companies’ patient assistance programs via The Pharmacy Connection.

Northern Neck Free Health Clinic
VHCF has helped the Northern Neck Free Health Clinic expand medical, dental and mental health services to area residents. One VHCF grant allowed the clinic to add full-time nurse practitioner and a second grant allowed the clinic, in partnership with VCU dental school, to provide dental care to NNFHC patients. The most recent funding expands mental health services for patients at the free clinic and to expands medical care for clients of the area Community Services Board.
In addition, the Northern Neck Free Health Clinic is part of the Greater Williamsburg Medication Access Program, administered by VHCF. This program helps the free clinic obtain free prescription medications for qualified patients, using VHCF's The Pharmacy Connection software to access pharmaceutical company programs for patients in need.
