Grantees

Alexandria Neighborhood Health Services, Inc.

As a VHCF Project Connect grantee, ANSHI is helping enroll eligible, uninsured children from Alexandria and Arlington in the state-sponsored health insurance programs for children, FAMIS and FAMIS Plus.

VHCF has provided a number of other grants to this community health provider. Grants have included start-up funds for the Arlandria Health Center which provides accessible primary and preventive health services to medically indigent Hispanic women and children in the City of Alexandria, as well as funding to hire an additional physician for the Adult Medicine Clinic and support for Clinical Mental Health Services for El Centro Familiar. The most recent VHCF grant for ANHSI is to help underwrite the salary and benefits of a part-time physician to provide primary medical care to uninsured and medically underserved patients of the center’s Adult Medicine Clinic.

Project Connect grants are made possible with funding from the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services and the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation.
