“I know for a fact that I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t gotten help.”

I didn’t realize that I had post-traumatic stress syndrome from all the abuse I suffered both as a child and an adult. It made me feel trapped and stupid.  I was angry all the time and kept everything bottled up until I exploded, because I didn’t have the coping skills to deal with that anger.

The doctor at the Moss Free Clinic saw that I was a mess and suggested I meet with Marsha, their psychiatric nurse practitioner. She helped me realize what my problems were and gave me the tools to make needed changes.

Now, every time I’m in the situation that makes me angry, I say to myself: “I know how to handle this.” She’s always in my head.

If I hadn’t connected with Marsha, I would probably be in jail today for harming someone—or else I’d be dead because I killed myself.  She helped me change my life.
