By the year 2025, there will be more Virginians over the age of 65 than under the age of 20. Many seniors admit that navigating the aging network can be frustrating. Often they have no idea what local services are available to assist them.

Additionally, 88% of eldercare in Virginia is provided by family and friends. Caregivers often come into their role through a crisis--not knowing where to turn or even what questions to ask.

In response to the growing needs of Seniors and those who care for them, in 2001, VHCF developed SeniorNavigator.com, to provide Virginians with a comprehensive source to link seniors, their caregivers and families with the information they need when they need it most.

SeniorNavigator is now an independent organization and Virginia's foremost online resource for health and aging information. SeniorNavigator.org provides Virginians with information on over 18,500 local programs and services as well as articles on a host of topics ranging from Alzheimer's disease to retirement planning. To learn more about how this resource is helping Virginia's senior and their caregivers, visit the award winning site at SeniorNavigator.org.
