Virginia is fortunate to have a network of approximately 50 Free Clinics to help support the Commonwealth's health safety net.
While Free Clinics typically are established to help low-income, uninsured individuals, they also can be invaluable resources in areas where there are too few providers to serve all of a community's needs.
Free Clinics provide essential health services at little or no charge, thanks to the volunteer efforts of health professionals and others, as well as support from community organizations and foundations like the Virginia Health Care Foundation. These clinics vary in terms of hours of operation and services provided, which can include primary health care, dental services and mental health care.
To learn more, contact a free clinic in your area or visit www.vafreeclinics.org, the Virginia Association of Free Clinics website. Find a Free Clinic near you by clicking on the Virginia Association of Free Clinics' map or viewing the VHCF Directory of Virginia Free Clinics.
